Cheap Loops is a new serie of live music experiments involving nintendo ds. Following what Henry Homesweet did with his incredible Out-House sets, the main idea is to make lo-fi stuff with videogame consoles inspired by great nintendo ds composers such as Anthony Seeha, HarleyLikesMusic and GXSCChater.

In this first experiment, I'm using the KORG ds-10 on a nintendo ds lite to make chiptune influenced house music. I discovered the ds-10 several years ago and I tried to make some jams without any good results, not at all. That 16 patterns thing was really tough to me to handle. When the DSN-12 came out, I was relieved I was able to make some stuff with it. So after a while I forced myself to compose something with the ds-10, to improve my synthesis knowledge and my composing skills, with just one rule: having fun.

There's still a lot to learn, but it's a start!
